How to Manage Urinary Frequency

Urinary frequency is the need to urinate many times during the day, at night or both, in normal or less than normal volumes. Dealing with this constant urge to urinate can be frustrating, annoying and even embarrassing. It can either be a medical condition or as a result of lifestyle such as taking alcohol in large quantities.

There are solutions to urinary frequency, they include but not limited to; Taking note of what you drink- Alcohol and beverages with caffeine such as coffee, tea, and soft drinks are diuretics and can increase the frequency of urination. Exercise your pelvic muscles – this helps in strengthening the muscles and so is the bladder. Change the diet – Avoid foods that are bladder irritant. Some food such as apples, cranberries, and citrus fruits can increase urination. Also, tomato-based foods and spicy foods can cause an increased urge to urinate. Manage medications that trigger the bladder to overreact and last but not least if the symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

If your urinary frequency is not severe it is very easy to manage it, but for the severe cases which are beyond your control, it is always advisable to seek medical attention.
